Meet Candy. This poor sweet 10-year-old Maltese came to us from the East Valley Animal Shelter in Van Nuys. Someone purposely burned her with chemicals or with some sort of fire accelerent. She had burns over 30% of her body. It is very sad to see this kind of mistreatment of animals.

Candy was just the sweetest dog. Even thru all this trauma. In addition to the burns she had a heart murmur and other health issues. She fought hard against her ailments with round the clock Doctors and Technicians providing love and care. Unfortunately her little body could no longer fight. The amazing staff of VCA West LA gave her so much love in these past months and we are forever grateful for the kindness and compassion they provided. We would also like to give thanks to the many donors who helped fund her care. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without your support. Everyone involved with her care from donations to medical are heroes. She will be greatly missed but we know now she is at peace, over the rainbow bridge.
