Meet Takui. He came into the East Valley Animal shelter in October 2019 as an owner surrender. Noticed that he was not putting weight down on his leg, so decided to do x-rays. The shelter was astonished to find that his leg and pelvis were broken in several places. This poor dude was in do much pain that he didn’t want anyone to go near him. Kinder4Rescue was kind enough to attempt to fix his fractures and try to save his leg. Unfortunately the injuries were really old and the surgery did not work. We ended up amputating his leg so he can live a more comfortable life. He also has severe dental disease and needed all his teeth removed. Now that he is no longer in pain, he is such a sweet and wonderful little dog.

As of Dec 2019, he is still looking for his forever home.

About LAP Rescue Program

We work with first responders and humane organizations during a disaster to provide animal care to injured and displaced pets and their owners. We also aid under served and homeless individuals with pets to ensure that no animal is surrendered to a shelter for financial need.
